All Are Invited to the Celebration, Which Precedes Retail Banking Event

WAKEFIELD, Mass. – Sept. 11, 2008 – The Interactive Financial eXchange (IFX; http://www.ifxforum.org) Forum will formally roll out the second generation of its time-tested IFX Business Message Specification, Version 2.0, at a special public event at the Doubletree Castle Hotel (http://www.doubletreecastle.com) in Orlando, Florida, USA, on Monday, November 17.

“It has been 10 years since we introduced the first version of our standard.  At that time we were focused on a service-oriented business model and the brave new world of Internet banking,” said IFX Forum President Richard P. Urban.  “With Version 2 of the standard, we are working to perfect our fit with Service Oriented Architecture implementations within the financial enterprise as well as on the Internet.”

The IFX Forum is an international not-for-profit industry association whose mission is to develop IFX and promote its adoption as an open, interoperable standard for financial data exchange.

"A decade of standard-setting activity, industry collaboration and solid accomplishment is worth celebrating, and we invite the industry to join us," Urban said.

The Version 2.0 introduction and 10th Anniversary celebration will take place the day before the start of the BAI Retail Delivery Conference & Expo (http://www.bai.org/retaildelivery/), which is taking place at the Orange County Convention Center, for the convenience of industry participants who will be attending that event.  There is no charge for the public IFX Forum event, but advance registration is necessary to secure a place: send a request to info@ifxforum.org or watch the IFX Forum home page at http://www.ifxforum.org for an automated registration link.

Monday's presentations will introduce the architecturally improved 2.0 version of IFX, including detailed discussions of its adaptation to SOA, its consistently applied object model and important new content.  IFX success stories and highlights of the Forum's international liaison work will also be on the program.  Following the presentations, the Forum will host a reception to celebrate its 10th anniversary.

Tuesday through Thursday, November 18-20, the Forum will host a quarterly working meeting, where all active Working Groups and the Architecture Committee will hold hands-on face-to-face sessions.  These meetings are an important platform for the Forum’s working groups’ accomplishments, though activity continues in between meetings by other means.  Prospective members are invited to attend, in order to "test-drive" the Forum before joining, for a per-person meeting fee of $695, which will be credited toward the first year's dues.  Registration for the meeting will be open soon, from a link at http://www.ifxforum.org.  Registered attendees will be able to take advantage of special hotel room rates, as well as complimentary admission to the Forum's 10th anniversary reception...
