IFX Forum ADDs MICROSOFT TO BOARD, ELECTS officers at 2007 annual meeting in PADERBORN, GERMANY
WAKEFIELD, Mass. – June 26, 2007 – At its recent 2007 Annual Meeting, the Interactive Financial eXchange (IFX; www.ifxforum.org) Forum members' representatives elected Brian Jackson of Microsoft Corporation to its Board of Directors. William Bird of e-Funds Corporation was re-elected, and Ewan McGuire of NCR Corporation and Guillaume LeBleu of Diebold/Brixlogic also assumed Board seats, replacing other representatives of their two companies. All the new Director terms last until 2010.
The new Board went on to elect President Richard P. Urban and Chairman Rick Duvall of ACI Worldwide, both incumbents. Lee Hou of Fidelity, previously Secretary, is now Treasurer, and Mark Tiggas of the Wells Fargo Company is the new Secretary of the organization.
IFX Forum is a not-for-profit standards-developing organization working to develop a robust framework for the electronic business-to-business exchange of data among financial service institutions around the world. The well-attended 2007 Annual Meeting took place in Paderborn, Germany, hosted by Wincor-Nixdorf.
"It's gratifying to have the Forum Board express this confidence in my serving as President," said Urban. "I look forward to an especially challenging and interesting year, as we roll out IFX 2.0 and embark on additional initiatives that will benefit our members and the financial services community worldwide."
The Paderborn meeting featured intense hands-on collaborative sessions for three of the Forum's active Working Groups: ATM-POS, Branch Banking Services, and Business Banking, which named a new Chair, Deborah Canale of the Wells Fargo Company. Additional days were devoted to architectural considerations for IFX 1.X and 2.0. The Forum's Steering Committee also met to discuss and advance the group's business plans.
A highlight of the four-day gathering was an expanded "Introduction to IFX" session on the first day, which was attended by a number of European representatives of financial services industry companies, both members and non-members.
The group's next face-to-face meeting will take place July 24-27 in Raleigh, North Carolina, hosted by Nexus Software/Diebold. As usual, prospective members are invited to attend for a fee of $695 per person (which will be credited toward membership dues, if the company joins the Forum within 60 days after the meeting), to become familiar with the group's activities before formally joining.
