IFX FORUM ATTAINS STATUS AS LIAISON "A" ORGANIZATION TO ISO TC 68, SC7

WAKEFIELD, Mass. – Feb. 26, 2008 – The Interactive Financial eXchange (IFX) Forum today announced that it has been approved as a Category A Liaison organization to the ISO (International Organization for Standardization; http://www.iso.org) TC (Technical Committee) 68's SC (Subcommittee) 7.

The IFX Forum is an international not-for-profit industry association whose mission is to develop IFX and promote its adoption as an open, interoperable standard for financial data exchange.  TC 68 deals with standardization in the field of banking, securities and other financial services, and SC 7 covers core banking functions.
"With a membership spanning a dozen countries over five continents, the IFX Forum brings a truly international orientation to our participation in SC 7 activities," said IFX Forum President Richard P. Urban.  "We are committed to engaging with others to develop interoperable messaging supporting financial transactions across corporate and national boundaries."

Since its inception, the IFX Forum has consistently been active in the development of international standards.  The Forum was named a Category D Liaison to TC 68 in 2006, and it was the first organization to deliver support for a prominent TC 68 deliverable, ISO 20022-UNIversal Financial Industry Message scheme (UNIFI), an international standard that defines the ISO platform for the development of financial message standards.  The IFX Forum co-founded the IST Harmonisation team, and it continues to work with other Standards Development Organizations on the harmonization of key standards for inclusion into the UNIFI repository.
